I run Home Fix Trends. Thirty-eight years old, two kids, one ongoing argument with my husband about whether the hallway needs a third coat of paint.

I’ve decorated professionally for over a decade. I still change my mind constantly. Both things are true at once, and I think that’s the point.

What I Believe About a Room

A room doesn’t need to be flawless. It needs to work for the people standing in it right now.

I’ve walked into houses worth two million dollars that felt cold and unlived-in, and I’ve walked into six-hundred-square-foot rentals that felt like somebody’s whole life was happening there.

The difference was never budget. It was whether the person who lived there made choices, instead of waiting for permission or the right paycheck to make them.

I don’t believe in flawless rooms. I believe in rooms that get used.

The Work Before the Blog

I spent nine years in visual merchandising for a regional furniture chain, three of them managing floor resets across eleven stores in two states. That job taught me things design school never would: how eighteen inches of clearance changes whether a room feels open or cramped, how lighting temperature alone can make the same sofa look expensive or cheap.
On the side, I staged homes for local realtors for five years. Somewhere past sixty houses, I stopped counting. Every one of them taught me something about what actually gets a room to read well in the twelve minutes or so a buyer spends deciding if they can see themselves living there.
I started Home Fix Trends to put that knowledge somewhere useful, instead of locked inside other people’s houses.

How I Decide What Gets Published

I don’t want this site to become a collection of attractive pictures with very little practical value.
Before publishing, I check the details behind an idea and review the content for accuracy, clarity, and usefulness. Every article is reviewed by me or a member of the editorial team, then edited before it goes live. If information can change with time, we revisit the article and update it rather than allowing old details to sit unnoticed.
When a recommendation includes an affiliate relationship, it is clearly identified. Sponsored content is also marked so you can tell when a brand has paid for placement or promotion.
I believe readers should know what they’re looking at and why something is being recommended. Trust is built through those small choices, not through a long list of claims on an About page.

You don’t need to copy an entire room to use an idea from it.

Take the part that solves your problem. Change the color. Use a different material. Skip the expensive piece. Work with what you already own. Your home should reflect the people who live there, not look like it was assembled from a single catalog page.
